This is now my main Quake / First Person Shooter monitor. I had a Samsung 27″ 120hz monitor before this. Which is better? In some ways, the LG, in other ways, the Samsung. Still, this is a great monitor, very happy with the purchase.
You can get these monitors from Amazon using this link:
They say it’s a 5ms monitor unless you use the Motion 240 strobe feature … I couldn’t really tell the difference. Even if it is 5ms, it feels great and I’ve played really well on it, even in a fast paced shooter like Quake.
Highly recommended.

is this led support nvidia gsync?
Can you tell me, please, how can I activate my speakers? I'm using PS4 and I don't wanna connect my headset to play games everytime.
This or the AW2518HF?
XL2411P or this?
the brightness is too high?
The only 144hz monitor with no UGLY REVIEWS on them.
Currently I am using a very old Samsung SyncMaster 2333 HD (60hz) – I want to upgrade to 144hz but not spend too much money. I wonder between ViewSonic XG2402, LG 24GM77 or the more expensive AOC G2460PG (with g-sync). I am using Nvidia 1070 and I am not sure.
this thing for 300 bucks is pretty awesome, i hope i can buy this in the future
Hey Zy! That's funny, I'm actually deciding between the old BenQ XL2411 (or XL2430), the newer version of this LG ( 24GM79) or the new (but unknown) AOC G2590PX ;D Low budget 144hz which I've been wanting for 2 years now with this current setup may finally be coming. But all the mixed reviews and apparent ''screen lottery'' is making me so hesitant… But first I'm going to checkout this review of yours about the Lg's predecessor ;p I prefer sticking to 24" for now though due to space constraints (and budget ones). Can't make up my mind.
u forgot to mention that this monitor has no external speaker
I have 1050ti should I go for this 144hz Moniter I mean is it worth Getting 1050ti with 144hz Moniter?
this or the new one?
What is the free sync range?
love your vids man ! looking for a 144hz monitor and just wondering what you would go with… the LG24GM77 (LG24GM79 now) or Benq XL2430 ?
i got this for $80.
If anyone watching this and wondering what is the difference between LG 24GM77 and LG 24GM77-B the B just stands for the colour BLACK. Damn i thought i was going to get something else :p
The motion 240 is the name of the backlight strobing technology that this (and other LG) monitors use. It is meant to reduce ghosting and give a CRT-like motion to the monitor. Maybe if you'd done an UFO test, for example, you would've seen the difference.
Hai Rocket Jump Ninja,, thanks for this review.
